Beauty That Counts

“My primary motivation for going into this business was to help women. I wanted to provide opportunities for them to create better lives. I saw Mary Kay Inc. as a vehicle for women to realize their dreams.” – Mary Kay Ash

We do a lot at Mary Kay to give back to communities around the world where we live and work. Globally, we’re focused on enriching the lives of women and children. This holds true even in our own backyard in Dallas. We’ve called Dallas home for more than 50 years, and we know how important it is to give back locally as it is to globally.

Mary Kay recently partnered with the Junior League of Dallas for the second annual Women LEAD (Learn • Excel • Achieve • Dream) Scholarship Program awarding $25,000 in scholarships to four female students to create opportunities for future women leaders. Women LEAD was inspired by our company founder Mary Kay Ash who started Mary Kay with just $5,000 in 1963 and has since led the way for millions of women around the world. Ten high school student finalists prepared a short speech based on the founding principles of Mary Kay Ash and the essay topic, “their dream beyond college and how they could accomplish it with $5,000.” Judges selected four winners based on their scholarship application, community involvement, academic record and speech presentation.

Congratulations to our four winners – Emili Quintero, Emily House, Sung Mawi and Belem Soto! As our first place winner, Emili will receive a $10,000 scholarship and Emily, Sung and Belem will each receive a $5,000 scholarship. We are so proud of these bright young women and know they will have very successful futures!

Join us in congratulating our Women LEAD scholarship recipients and tell us how you would accomplish your dream with $5,000.
