The recipients of the inaugural Women in Sustainability Leadership Award, presented by this magazine, illustrate the importance of diversity in the sustainability field, and should inspire us to infuse more positions with sustainability-related responsibilities. Revitalized by new goals, these jobs would appeal to millennials and transform workplace cultures that have been resistant to both women and people of color. After all, working toward sustainability across an organization and diversifying its workforce should go hand in hand.
