CAMPAIGN: Cisco Impact Area | Innovation

by Stephanie Chan

As we collectively step into the Spring season, many are taking the time to celebrate diversity and inclusion with Women's History Month.

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins signed The Multiplier Effect pledge on Feb 28th—symbolizing a promise to support diversity in the tech industry by sponsoring one diverse person for advancement. Robbins joined the Women Executive Roundtable at this year's Mobile World Congress to engage in the conversation of positive change.

Cisco leadership also represents the diversity in background, experience, and thought. Chief of Staff and VP of Growth Initiatives Ruba Borno recently spoke at Cisco Live! 2016 about her passion for equal opportunities for women in technology.

Hispanic Executive recently covered Cisco Chief People Officer and Senior VP Fran Katsoudas' thoughts about leading with innovation and inclusion. Cisco VP and Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer Shari Slate told Savoy Network in a recent interview about the company's unique environment to help grow diversity.

The company's commitment to women in tech and bringing young women into STEM fields is represented by initiatives to celebrate and teach—hosting events like the Women of Impact conference and Girls Power TechCisco's participation in last year's Grace Hopper Conference culminated in a powerful recruitment effort, connecting with women attendees in computing.

The Anita Borg Institute's 2016 Change Alliance included Cisco as a company committed to measuring their technical workforce. With Cisco and Robbins now on The Multiplier Effect pledge, we look can towards more celebration and advancements towards inclusion and diversity.
