February 16, 2017 /3BL Media/ - Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that Pat Lusk, senior managing director and chief actuary, has been appointed to the People's Light Board of Directors.

People’s Light is one of the largest, professional nonprofit theaters located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Known for its resident company of artists, electric mix of productions and innovative work with young people, the Theatre produces seven to nine plays per season, mixing world premieres, contemporary plays, and fresh approaches to classic texts.  People’s Light makes these productions accessible to a broad and diverse audience through special relaxed performances, community nights with reduced-price tickets, and features such as American Sign Language interpretation and open captioning. Work with young people is also central to the Theatre’s mission, manifested in a suite of programs called Arts Discovery that includes in-school artist residencies, theatre classes, and a longtime commitment to young people from the City of Chester through scholarships and round-trip transportation to Malvern for the Theatre’s programs. In all, People’s Light serves more than 80,000 people annually.

“People’s Light thrives thanks to people who believe in the spirit of our artistic work and programs for youth,” said Abigail Adams, Artistic Director & CEO, People’s Light. “It’s an honor to welcome Pat Lusk aboard. We know that he will bring a passionate and dedicated presence to our Theatre community.”

At Voya, Pat Lusk is responsible for all actuarial activities related to the company’s financial statements, including both the business units and the corporate function. Lusk serves as the appointed actuary for the company’s primary operating insurance companies. He is also the business head for the Closed Block Variable Annuity (CBVA) segment.

“The arts have always played an important role in my life and I am so happy to be supporting an organization that realizes the importance of community and theater,” said Lusk. “I hope that everyone gets a chance to experience the joy, adventure, and curiosity that theater brings.”
