As organizations grapple with how to move towards sustainability, many become overwhelmed by the multitude of theories, standards, tools and approaches available to them. How do these tools and approaches support an overall shift toward sustainability? How does an organization select the most strategic tools and approaches to move them along their journey?  How can we leverage the strengths of multiple tools and approaches to create a comprehensive sustainability strategy?

Karen Miller, Advisor at The Natural Step Canada, will explore the relationships between a systems approach to sustainability, having a strong definition of success, and applying strategic guidelines to guide the selection of actions and tools.  During this webinar you will:

•    Be introduced to a 5-Level Framework for planning in complex systems
•    Explore this framework applied to Strategic Sustainable Development (The Natural Step Framework)
•    Discuss the strengths of complementary approaches to sustainable development (ie. the Cradle-to-Cradle concept)
•    Have the opportunity to discuss and ask clarifying questions about your use of the Framework

The Natural Step Exchange is a unique network for sustainability practitioners and leaders who want to learn, share, and connect with others to accelerate the change toward a sustainable Canada. This webinar is open to the general public for registration.

Introductory memberships are designed for the general public and graduates of The Natural Step Canada’s Sustainability Learning Program courses who are interested in building their sustainability knowledge and curious about becoming more deeply engaged in the sustainability field in Canada.  For more information about how to join, please visit our website at http://www.thenaturalstep.org/exchange/.
