Travelers has been recognized for the ninth consecutive year as a Top 100 Military Friendly® Employer by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®.

“It is a great achievement to be included on the list of Top 100 Military Friendly® Employers for another year,” said John Clifford, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Travelers. “We have a strong commitment to supporting veterans, and we value the diverse skill sets and leadership qualities they bring to our company. Their principles and expertise help make Travelers more successful and a better place to work.”

The survey assesses a company’s long-term commitment to the recruiting, hiring and retention of former military personnel, policies for employees called to active duty, and the presence of special military recruitment and support programs.

Travelers’ commitment to supporting veterans and military personnel is demonstrated through:

Recruiting and hiring practices

  • Travelers actively recruits transitioning service personnel and military spouses for opportunities as property and auto claim adjusters, investigators, underwriters, product and project managers, medical case managers, information engineers, attorneys, risk control consultants and many other roles. A team of recruiters and employees with previous military experience work to build relationships with national military and veteran organizations.

Internal and external support

  • Travelers offers mentorships to transitioning military personnel through its involvement with American Corporate Partners. The company also supports events to salute military personnel and their families during the Travelers Championship.
  • The company’s Military and Veterans Diversity Network is an employee resource group open to all employees. Since its launch in 2013, the network has grown to include more than 1,800 members nationally. Participating employees build awareness of veterans’ skills and experiences and work to promote veterans’ career development.

Benefits for employees on active duty

  • Travelers offers benefits for employees deployed on active duty, including benefits continuation and leave of absence policies. The company provides full benefits and supplements employees’ military pay for the duration of their deployment, or up to the five-year maximum established by federal law.

In addition to being named to the list of Top 100 Military Friendly® Employers, Travelers is also on the Best for Vets list, published by Military Times. To learn more about Travelers and its commitment to being a military-friendly employer, visit
