TimeWarner Longitude Project - India Home Building 2010

Jul 12, 2010 5:30 PM ET

(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) July 12, 2010 - In one of its largest volunteer efforts to date, Turner in the Asia Pacific region is supporting an extraordinary home building project this fall in India. Turner is working in conjunction with the grassroots organization Longitude, a U.S.-based non-profit that was started by a school teacher and his wife who set out to make a difference.

Approximately 25 dedicated volunteers from across the region will travel to Andhra Pradesh in late September to help construct homes for some of India’s poorest and most disadvantaged people. This project aims to build several homes over a period of two weeks.

The money raised through ammado will be used to cover on-the-ground costs in India including home-building materials, transportation and logistics. The Turner volunteers have set themselves an ambitious goal, but one that they very much hope to reach. An additional aim is to make this volunteerism opportunity an annual one for Turner Asia Pacific.

To make your donations please join the TW Longitude Project Community here.

Thanks very much for your kind donations.
