Amsterdam, The Netherlands, July 3, 2014 /3BL Media/ – Sealed Air’s Diversey Care business today announced that its consulting division has performed sustainability audits for several properties within Swiss Deluxe Hotels, an association of 39 five-star luxury hotels in Switzerland.

"Swiss Deluxe Hotels wishes to establish very high standards of quality in harmony with an intelligent use of resources,”†said Siro Barino, CEO of Swiss Deluxe. “We want to continue this project in order to further improve the sustainability of the Swiss Deluxe Hotels."

Diversey Care Consulting specialists audited the energy and water consumption, food safety, and cleaning and hygiene practices at the Dolder Grand Hotel in Zurich as part of its work with Swiss Deluxe Hotels. Key figures such as the number of rooms booked compared to the annual consumption of oil, gas, electricity, water and turnover of the food and beverages, among other criteria, was analyzed.

As a result of Diversey Care Consulting’s work, the Dolder Grand Hotel will achieve annual savings of more than $22,000. These savings will result from reducing energy consumption by approximately 45,000 kWh, water consumption by approximately 220,000 liters and chemical consumption by approximately 2,300 Kilograms.

"The sustainable development project taught us in a clear and constructive way how to differentiate, maintain and improve our image by combining efficiency, profitability and risk management," said Mark Jacob, CEO of the Dolder Resort. "This project is a great management tool because it shows the potential of adopting sustainable behavior. Thanks to Diversey Care Consulting’s pragmatism, we have learned to put in place measures that will help us become a better and more sustainable business. "

“Sustainability in the hospitality industry requires a responsible utilization of resources,” said Ilham Kadri, president, Diversey Care. “Economic aspects, environmental awareness and human behavior must be harmonized. With a relatively reasonable effort, considerable sustainability enhancements, cost savings and improved employee safety can be achieved.”
