GAITHERSBURG, Md., November 14, 2012 /3BL Media/ - Sodexo’s mobile recruitment strategy was recognized by two organizations for its forward thinking approaches to talent acquisition in an increasingly competitive labor market, and its pioneering adoption of innovation and technology to attract and retain diverse, top talent in an increasingly mobile, digital world. Workforce Management Magazine cited Sodexo as the winner of the 2012 Optimas Award for Vision and the Society for New Communications Research conferred the 2012 SNCR Award for Mobile Media to the company.

"We are proud to accept these awards that recognize our mobile recruitment strategy," said Arie Ball, Vice President Sourcing and Talent Acquisition. “Our goal continues to be focused on finding and hiring the best talent through strategic and innovative uses of technology.”

With the launch of its mobile careers platform, including its mobile job app, Sodexo makes it possible for employees and candidates to connect with its team, learn about the Sodexo culture, search for career opportunities and apply to jobs, all from a mobile device. Since launching the app in March 2012, downloads have exceeded 8,500; more than 3,400 candidate applications were submitted via mobile; and mobile has led to more than 1,480 new Sodexo Talent Community members.

Yet, while the mobile strategy positions Sodexo as a top employer, results have demonstrated that the mobile app has also had a particularly strong impact on attracting diverse talent, who have a high usage of mobile devices. Early statistics show that Sodexo’s diversity of candidate slates is up 7.1 percent since the Sodexo Jobs app was launched.

Additionally, Sodexo’s own employees especially appreciate the ease with which they can seek out their next position within the company through the on-the-go access to all of the company’s online properties. Of the 36 total hires that came from mobile applicants, 20 were internal employees.

Workforce Management’s Optimas awards are given to companies across the globe in recognition of workforce management initiatives that directly improve business results. This year’s recognition is Sodexo’s fourth Optimas award. SNCR awards are given in recognition of communication initiatives that exhibit technical excellence, creativity and innovation, effectiveness, measurable outcomes and overall success. This year’s recognition is Sodexo’s second SNCR award.
