(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) GAITHERSBURG, MD - June 4, 2010 - A Sodexo Campus Services chef is one of hundreds of top chefs selected nationwide to visit the White House on June 4 to participate in Chefs Move to Schools, a program pairing chefs with their community schools to make healthy eating, cooking and nutrition education fun and engaging.

Jacqueline Craig, a Sodexo executive chef at Howard University in Washington, D.C., was asked to participate through Sodexo’s affiliation with the National Restaurant Association.   Chef Craig works with Maryland youth to promote good nutrition, including serving as “Chef Coach” for Lady Liberty, an all-girl youth basketball team. Chef Craig has been volunteering her time every summer for eight years to travel with the team to ensure good nutrition for the athletes.   “We applaud Chef Craig and the Chefs Move to Schools program for creating innovative opportunities to teach students lifelong lessons about good nutrition,” said Lorna Donatone, chief operating officer and president of Sodexo Education. “We play a role in serving  2.5 million nutritious school meals each day and we also teach about healthy eating at home, too, well beyond high school graduation.”   Sodexo is committed to take measurable sustainable actions that ensure a brighter future in the areas of health and wellness, environmental stewardship and community development. Sodexo School Services focuses on nutrition, achievement, environment, community and activity to promote student well-being.   Sodexo feeds students at more than 470 school districts in the United States and is a partner in First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign.   Sodexo in North America
