ON Semiconductor Strives to Make Positive Impact by Growing CSR Team

At ON Semiconductor we believe that as we grow we must also further invest in our communities to make a positive and measurable impact. Our Global Corporate Giving Program, which was launched in 2016, strategically leverages our resources, talent and efforts to support non-profits and educational institutions. Each year, we fund projects and programs in order to create social value and maximize our effect on the communities through workplace giving and community grants. In 2018, ON Semiconductor donated over $2 million globally to support health, human services, education, disaster relief and environmental causes.

To further increase our footprint, we also launched a formal employee volunteer program in 2017 so that all of our employees in North America would have one day per year to volunteer at an organization of their liking during company time (this is in addition to volunteering in any company sponsored activity that we organize for our employees on weekdays or weekends). And in 2018, we introduced a dollars-for-doers program for employees in North America.

We have continued to expand and strengthen our corporate social responsibility program by introducing a community grant program, launching a paid employee volunteer program, receiving Ethisphere Institute’s World’s Most Ethical Company designation for the past four years (2015-19), being named Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies in 2017 and 2018 as well as becoming a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices in 2018.

With all of these initiatives, ON Semiconductor’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team has also grown substantially from having a compliance and audit focus, and membership in the Responsible Business Alliance, to also including corporate citizenship, corporate giving, employee volunteerism, social and sustainability investing assessments. Along with expanding the elements of this program, the team has also grown.

ON Semiconductor’s CSR team recently brought on Jackie Terry, who will oversee the global corporate giving program (grants, workplace giving and volunteer matching) as well as manage and expand the employee volunteer program globally.

Through philanthropy and volunteerism, we aim to create a relationship of mutual trust and respect between the company and the local communities in which we operate. Through our community involvement, we also want our employees to be proud of what they do and where they work.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll share more stories on how we’re committed to corporate social responsibility by demonstrating how philanthropy is a part of our corporate DNA.
