(3BL Media) September 17, 2012 - Stockland is pleased to release the company’s Annual Review 2012 and detailed sustainability performance.

Stockland’s Annual Review outlines FY12 financial results, environmental and social performance, and strategy and governance. As well as a discussion of ongoing and emerging challenges and opportunities. The report is available via: www.stockland.com.au/annualreview2012

This is Stockland’s seventh year publicly reporting its sustainability performance and the company has continued to evolve its approach.

In 2011, Stockland was selected to participate in the international pilot for integrated reporting, led by the International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC) (www.theiirc.org). A key outcome of this process is a change to the way the company reports and Stockland’s Annual Review is its first report combining financial, environmental and social performance.

Stockland remains committed to delivering high quality sustainability reporting and have transitioned the company’s detailed sustainability reporting to online only (www.stockland.com.au/sustainability). Once again, the company has reported against the Global Reporting Initiative to an A+ standard and independently assured its reporting under AA1000(AS).

Reporting year highlights include:

  • Delivery of affordable house and land packages under $300,000 in all states of operation,
  • Achieving Australia’s first 6 Star NABERS Energy rated retail centre,
  • 26 per cent reduction of GHG intensity across the office portfolio and 7 per cent in the retail portfolio since 2009,
  • Positive results from unique liveability and wellbeing research in Stockland communities, and
  • Achievement of 40 per cent women in management target.

2012 is just the first step. Stockland will continue involvement in the IIRC pilot into 2013. Over the coming years the company will seek to further enhance the transparency and accessibility of its stakeholder reporting.
