Rego Park’s Nicole Griffith named first Ernst and Young Mentor of the Year

Nicole Griffith received the first Ernst and Young Mentor of the Year Award at the second annual Mentor’s Champions Golf Challenge held Sunday, Sept. 9 at Friar’s Head Golf Club in Riverhead, L.I.

The 38-year-old Rego Park resident, who has been working at Ernst and Young LLP for 11 months, is assistant director and lead recruiter for the firm’s Financial Services Division in Manhattan.

Griffith received the award in recognition of her long-standing commitment to youth mentoring through the firm’s iMentor program. Organizers of the event also commended Griffith for demonstrating qualities associated with being a mentor such as patience, understanding, openness and helping mentees reach their goals.

Nancy Altobello, Americas vice chair of People, at Ernst and Young, with the help of actor Samuel L. Jackson, presented the award to Griffith.

The event was presented by Ernst and Young, and Roundtable Investment Partners.
