On Jan. 23, the PepsiCo Dream Machine recycling initiative was honored with the 2011 Momentum Award from the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) in recognition for offering downtown Washington, D.C. visitors and residents a convenient and rewarding recycling option while on-the-go. The annual Momentum Awards program celebrates the best of downtown D.C. by honoring the individuals, projects and organizations that contribute to bettering the district’s economy and environment.

"On behalf of PepsiCo's Dream Machine Recycling Initiative, we are honored to be recognized with the DowntownDC BID's 2011 Momentum Award," said Jeremy Cage, senior vice president and head of the Dream Machine recycling initiative - PepsiCo. "Downtown D.C. was the first municipality to partner with the Dream Machine program and has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to sustainability. Through strategic partnership, the Dream Machine program has provided a convenient and rewarding recycling option for residents and visitors who are helping to keep D.C. green and also helping PepsiCo support U.S. veterans with disabilities.
