PG&E Named One of America’s Best Corporate Citizens

Utility Ranks 37th among United States Companies in “100 Best Corporate Citizens” List Published by CR Magazine

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. April 15, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has once again been named to the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list – a comprehensive ranking of Russell 1000 publicly held U.S. companies that best advance corporate responsibility and sustainability through disclosure, policy and performance. This is the sixth consecutive year that PG&E has been included in the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list.

To identify the 100 Best Corporate Citizens, companies were evaluated on 298 data points of disclosure and performance in seven categories: environment, climate change, employee relations, human rights, governance, finance and philanthropy. Selected companies successfully demonstrated, through publicly available data, their robust efforts to drive disclosure, policy and performance in these categories.

“The publication of CR Magazine’s 14th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens list shines a spotlight on companies like PG&E with a strong commitment to transparency and responsible practices,” added Elliot Clark, CEO of CR Magazine. “Each year we are pleased to witness the growing commitment by corporations in an effort to improve their performance.”

All data was collected and analyzed by IW Financial, a Portland, Maine-based financial analysis firm serving the Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) investment community. The utility was also recently recognized as one of the 25 best companies nationwide for supplier diversity by HispanicBusiness Inc., a leading online business publication for the Hispanic market.
