On the very tip of South America, sits the municipality of Ushuaia, in the Tierra del Fuego Province of Argentina. This is a land which is characterized by extremes. The world’s southernmost city is home to some 57,000 people, according to the 2010 census, and the responsible management of their waste might not be the first thing that springs to mind. However, this is where New Holland Construction, a construction equipment brand of CNH Industrial, stepped in. Working in the local landfill, the E385C EVO crawler excavator is carrying out essential excavation and soil movement activities to minimize the waste’s impact. It was chosen as its operation is particularly soil friendly.
