Nature Conservancy Receives $25,000 Grant from GE

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Nature Conservancy announced that it has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the General Electric Foundation, in keeping with GE’s Ecomagination initiative. The funding will be used to protect and restore habitat in the Berkshire Taconic Landscape. The Berkshire Taconic Landscape encompasses the three-state region of eastern New York, northwestern Connecticut and southwestern Massachusetts, near GE’s birthplace in Schenectady, and near its corporate headquarters in Fairfield, CT, and a region that is home to many GE businesses, employees and retirees. The region also boasts a remarkable mountainous forest plateau, globally significant wetlands and is home to over 150 rare and endangered species. People living here depend on it for exceptionally clean water.
