Campaign: MetLife Foundation

It took:

  • 6 hours
  • 100 cubic yards of mulch
  • 12,000 pounds of concrete
  • 200 volunteers

To do the following:

  • Replace the chain-link fence
  • Landscape
  • Paint a tri-cycle track
  • Build 3 picnic tables
  • 1 tree bench
  • Paint mosaic murals
  • Assemble 19 pieces of playground equipment
  • And, plant over 50 new plants

All with the help of Snoopy, the much love MetLife mascot, who cheered and encouraged the volunteers during the day!

Nothing says it better than these words of gratitude from a MetLife Employee to KaBOOM!:

I just want thank KaBOOM! for their commitment to spreading joy to children around the world. I want to thank MetLife Foundation for supporting both KaBOOM! and the Morristown Neighborhood House. You make me very proud to be a MetLife employee. And, I want to thank everyone who volunteered their time today to help build this wonderful playground, espcially my friends and associates from Bridgewater and Morristown.

In all the years that I have done charity work as a MetLife employee in Bridgewater, one thing I have learned is to nver underestimate the impact you can have on the life of one child. Days from now, weeks from now, months from now, years from now you will be able to pass this playground and see the smiles, hear the laughter, and witness the joy that will come from this place. You will know in your hearts that your sacrifice today made those smiles, that laughter, that joy possible.

The late college basketball coach John Wooden once said, "You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you." I want to thank everyone of you for helping make this a perfect day. God Bless You!
