BACKYARD COLLECTIVE VISION:  
To bring together outdoor industry companies and friends for a day of collective action in our backyard.

WHO: You!  We are looking for volunteers from Conservation Alliance member companies, grantees & friends to volunteer for a day of service and celebration!

WHAT: We’re partnering with Marin County Parks in preserving Springs Hill from invasive barbed goatgrass. The Marin County Natural Resources staff will discuss an integrated pest management approach to controlling this invasive plant on the Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Preserve.

WHEN: May 4, 2012.  We will host a morning work session with volunteer fair, celebration catered lunch served from 12:30-1:30. Everyone is welcome for the lunch & celebration portion of the event!

WHERE: Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Preserve, Terra Linda
From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the Freitas Pkway/Terra Linda exit, head west, turn right at Las Pavadas (veers left and becomes Las Colindas Rd), turn right at Wintergreen Terrace. MCOSD gate is at the end of Wintergreen Terrace.

Lunch, Volunteer Fair & Celebration location: Lagoon Park
From Wintergreen Terrace turn left onto Las Colindas Rd.  Turn right onto Las Gallinas Ave.  Turn left onto Manuel T Freitas Pky.  Take the onramp heading South on US-101 and exit on N. San Pedro Rd. Turn left on to Merrydale Rd.  Turn left on to N. San Pedro Rd.  Turn left on Civic Center Dr. Turn right on Armory Dr. and park in the large parking lot near the playground.

ITEMS FOR THE DAY:  Equipment, tools and instruction will be provided. Participants should bring water bottle, wear study shoes and dress in weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty.
