AEG’s LA Galaxy Foundation concluded the 2019 calendar year by raising nearly $1,000,000 to benefit the Los Angeles community through numerous events, programming and initiatives in conjunction with the LA Galaxy Champions Project which directly benefited more than 5,000 students from 11 elementary schools in the greater Los Angeles area.

A community-driven program launched by the LA Galaxy in April 2019, the LA Galaxy Champion Project pairs the club with local elementary schools to provide soccer programming and opportunities to promote health, wellness and leadership development with local youth, while growing the game of soccer.

In addition to the LA Galaxy Champions Project, the LA Galaxy continued its Protect the Pitch initiative, launched in 2016 to provide local youth with the education and resources to live healthier, more sustainable lives, by hosting 350 students at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. to tour the stadium’s sustainable operations, garden and enjoy a children’s cooking class.

Throughout both initiatives, Galaxy players, staff and fans volunteered nearly 2,000 hours assisting with soccer clinics, garden installations, beach cleanups and additional activities throughout the year. For a full list of LA Galaxy community programs and activities, please click here.
