St. Louis, Mo., December 17, 2012 /3BL Media/ – The KSHE 95 Winter Blood Drive has officially collected over 135,000 units of blood, helping save around 400,000 lives since its inception in 1984. The 2012 Winter Blood Drive collected 2,579 productive units of blood, just shy of the blood drive’s 2,600 unit goal.

Incite began increasing the visibility of the blood drive in 2011 by adding sponsors such as Jefferson Regional Hospital to support a media campaign promoting the event.

“We are very grateful to our corporate sponsors who understand the importance of supporting their local community through sponsorships such as the KSHE 95 Winter Blood Drive. By supporting the drive, we were able to raise more awareness through a media campaign that encouraged St. Louis residents to stop by a KSHE blood donation center near them. Even if they weren’t able to donate at this blood drive, hopefully our messaging reminded them to stop by a blood bank this holiday season to help save a life,” Libby Nolan, Director of Incite St. Louis said.

The KSHE 95 Winter Blood Drive media campaign encouraged listeners to stop by one of 10 locations to donate blood. Local celebrities and radio personalities including John “U-Man” Ulett, Guy “Favazz” Favazza, Nick Bacott, Mike Doran, and Lauren “Lern” Colvin helped create additonal buzz around the blood drive.
