(3BL Media) Denver, CO - April 4, 2012 - Johnson & Johnson has become the first international sponsor of CleanMed, the premier national environmental conference for leaders in health care sustainability. Presented annually by nonprofit organizations Health Care Without Harm and Practice Greenhealth, CleanMed inspires the health care sector to implement sustainable, environmentally friendly practices. As part of the arrangement, Johnson & Johnson will sponsor CleanMed 2012, to be held in Denver, Co, April 30-May 2, 2012, as well as CleanMed Europe 2012, which will be held in Malmo, Sweden, on Sept. 26-28, 2012. As part of its agreement, Johnson & Johnson will also sponsor the Practice Greenhealth Awards ceremony at CleanMed 2012, where hospitals and other Practice Greenhealth members excelling in their sustainability efforts will be recognized for achievements in a number of categories, including sustainability leadership.

"Johnson & Johnson has been an important part of CleanMed during its history, initiating training for sustainability professionals and sponsoring other events during past years," stated Gary Cohen, President of Health Care Without Harm, which founded CleanMed and CleanMed Europe. "By sponsoring both the U.S. CleanMed and our international conference, CleanMed Europe, Johnson & Johnson will help advance the global effort to bring sustainability to the health care sector."

CleanMed is not only a venue where participants hear and share the latest in green products, research and practices, it is the place where the green health care agenda is set for the upcoming year. CleanMed brings together administrators, medical professionals, staff and specialists from hospitals and other health care institutions to a conference focused solely on how to bring sustainability to health care. They are joined by business leaders from companies that supply hospital services and products; architects, designers and planners; scientists and members of academia; and all others interested in developing greener, more sustainable hospital building and operations. The wide variety of key participants makes CleanMed the most important conference for generating new ideas about incorporating sustainability in health care.

CleanMed is the premier global conference on environmentally sustainable health care. CleanMed's mission is to accelerate the health care sector's commitment to environmental sustainability and regenerative health to improve the health of people and the environment.
