Coinciding with International Women’sDay, Bloomberg Media Chief Operating Officer Jacki Kelley was honored today by the United Way of New York City’s Women’s Leadership Council, at its Power of Women to Make a Difference Award luncheon.

The award marks the achievements of outstanding women leaders who also have a deep commitment to supporting their communities.  In addition to an impressive collection of awards for her game-changing work in advertising and media, Kelley has long been recognized for her leadership in diversity and inclusion – including leading New York Women in Communications, an organization which serves women across the full arc of their careers, as President of its board of directors.

That community-driven ethic accords with the core mission of United Way of New York City’s Women’s Leadership Council, which especially champions education campaigns such as ReadNYC and has raised more than $5 million in support of UWNYC’s youth empowerment initiatives. It has also infused efforts such as MAKERS @Bloomberg, which kicked off International Women’s Day at Bloomberg headquarters in New York last night. There, Bloomberg Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion Erika Irish Brown, Bloomberg Businessweek Editor Megan Murphy and Bloomberg Media CEO Justin Smith sat down to discuss the importance of driving better outcomes for women in the workplace and our society.
