Innovative food company brings plant-based product to the table

JUST, the innovative San Francisco-based food company with a mission to make the foods we love healthier and more sustainable, has partnered with Aramark to bring JUST Egg, the plant-based, protein-packed product to corporate, healthcare and higher education cafes.

JUST Egg is plant-based, cholesterol-free, and dairy-free, contains no artificial flavors, and its ingredients are more sustainable than conventional chicken eggs. After five years of development, JUST’s team of Michelin-starred chefs have created a product that looks and tastes just like the fluffy, filling, savory breakfast staple that consumers love.

Consumers seeking plant-based options

As a growing number of consumers look for options that are healthier, provide protein and are allergen-friendly, Aramark understands the great potential plant-based menu items, like those from JUST Egg, has in helping meet these lifestyle and dietary needs, ultimately improving the way communities eat across the country. Results from Aramark’s proprietary research suggests that 80% of consumers would be open to trying a plant-based food that is new to them and over half (58%) said that personal health was the main driver of increasing plant-forward options. Reflective of this, 30% of main dishes served across Aramark’s dining operations in Healthcare, Higher Education and Business Dining are vegetarian or vegan.
