Thanks to support from FedEx, International Medical Corps supplied much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE) and deployed emergency medical field units to Kedren Community Health Center in South Los Angeles. The PPE and field units are enabling International Medical Corps volunteers to administer more than 2,100 COVID-19 vaccines daily.

International Medical Corps deployed an additional emergency medical field unit to Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital to increase its vaccination capacity.

International Medical Corps launched its COVID-19 vaccination activities in Los Angeles during the first week of March at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH) and Kedren Community Health Center (KCHC). Thanks to generous support from FedEx, International Medical Corps deployed emergency medical field units to both health facilities to increase their capacity to efficiently and effectively administer COVID-19 vaccinations to residents of South Los Angeles—one of the most vulnerable populations in the LA County. In addition to strengthening fixed-site activities, International Medical Corps also is deploying teams of volunteer vaccinators to support KCHC’s expansion vaccination efforts throughout the month of March. The volunteers have been providing an average of more than 2,100 COVID-19 vaccines daily from the field units at KCHC.
