February 18, 2019 /3BL Media/ — Ingersoll Rand (NYSE:IR), a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, received the “Spirit of North Carolina” award in recognition of its excellence in conducting a United Way campaign, philanthropic culture and community partnership. The award honors Ingersoll Rand’s 2018 campaign that included a donation of $1.4 million to the United Way of Central Carolinas and employee volunteerism to address the most critical community needs- hunger, housing and shelter.

As part of the company’s 2020 sustainability commitments, Ingersoll Rand is dedicated to advancing economic mobility by helping to solve critical issues in America’s communities. Through programs designed to address hunger, housing and shelter, Ingersoll Rand employees participated in projects ranging from building houses to tutoring children, preparing and serving food, organizing donations and more for United Way organizations. In 2018, more than 400 employees from Ingersoll Rand’s six North Carolina sites contributed to 40 unique volunteer programs with the United Way.

“Supporting our community is a deeply ingrained value demonstrated by employees across level, tenure and location,” said Shawn Laskoski, vice president of product management and marketing, Residential HVAC & Supply and United Way campaign chair at Ingersoll Rand. “We are honored to receive the Spirit of North Carolina award which acknowledges the creativity and commitment of our employees in how they give back to the communities where they work and live. We will continue to strengthen our partnership with the United Way, whose unique model allows us to maximize our positive impact.”

Ingersoll Rand accepted the award during a ceremony on Feb. 13 at the Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst, N.C. During the company’s 24th annual campaign in 2018, more than 1,800 employees from sites across North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee contributed over 4,000 volunteer hours in a single week, supporting the company’s goal of dedicating 40,000 employee hours by 2020.

The company’s U.S.-wide fundraising campaign, which includes a company match for every Ingersoll Rand employee donation, directed its dollars toward United Way organizations that address homelessness and related economic stability needs. In 2018, Ingersoll Rand and employees donated more than $3 million to United Way supported organizations, including Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Life Span Services and Love, Inc.

As a resource for company philanthropy and humanitarian work, the Ingersoll Rand Foundation enables the company to advance its efforts in creating a world of sustainable progress. To achieve the goal of advancing the quality of life, Ingersoll Rand has developed charitable partnerships with organizations, such as the United Way, to help build comfortable, efficient and sustainable communities.
