CNH Industrial brand IVECO has made a €16,000 donation to Hamburger Tafel, a German charity which is focused on alleviating food poverty

When you hear the word ‘Hamburger’ the first thought that springs to mind is probably the ubiquitous fast-food snack. However, in Germany it can also mean something a lot more. It is a way of helping alleviate food poverty.

CNH Industrial, through is $2 million Solidarity Fund, enabled its commercial vehicles brand IVECO to make a €16,000 donation to Hamburger Tafel e.V. This non-profit organization helps alleviate food poverty, which has represented a particular challenge during the Covid-19 pandemic. While it does not distribute food itself, it takes care of the entire donation process, including the collection, storage and transport of food to local food banks.

Each week, up to 30,000 people are supplied with over 40 tons of food. Hamburger Tafel is financed by both in-kind and monetary donations and relies on volunteers to carry out its services.
