Global Impact Names Mark Oliphant As Chief Information and Operating Officer

New executive team member to streamline operations and leverage technology to grow business through new partnerships and alliances

(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) Alexandria, VA - November 14, 2011 - Global Impact, whose mission is to assure help for the world’s most vulnerable people, announced today the appointment of Mark Oliphant as the chief information and operating officer.  Mr. Oliphant will report to Renée S. Acosta, president of Global Impact, and oversee technology, operations and business processes.

In his new role, Mr. Oliphant will focus on organization-wide initiatives to develop key strategies for project management and evaluation through restructured internal processes, systems integration and online giving.

Mr. Oliphant joined Global Impact in 2009 as vice president, responsible for cross-functional business process reengineering and technology product development.  Notably, Mr. Oliphant introduced cloud computing to help manage the customer support function for the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area and Overseas to make the online giving component more user-friendly for campaign contributors. He also led other successful efforts to increase donor participation and reduce expenses through e-Giving.

Mr. Oliphant’s career spans nearly three decades and includes previous work at GE and Fannie Mae. In addition to his professional duties, Mr. Oliphant served on the Mortgage Bankers Association Governance Committee and several boards, including Ellie Mae and Dexma, Inc.  He also owns two patents related to electronic documentation.

Mr. Oliphant has a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Bucknell University and an M.S. degree in Systems Engineering from George Mason University.
