KINGSPORT, Tenn., April 27, 2017 /3BL Media/ – Eastman and East Tennessee State University’s College of Business and Technology are pleased to announce Dr. Clayton Christensen, one of the world’s top experts on innovation and growth, as this year’s keynote speaker for IDEAcademy.

Slated for Sept. 11-12, IDEAcademy is a free event featuring thought leaders in the world of innovation and leadership. IDEAcademy is looking for dynamic speakers from various disciplines and industries to share the stage with Christensen.

Christensen is the Kim B. Clark Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. His ideas have been widely used in industries and organizations throughout the world. He is the best-selling author of nine books and more than 100 articles. Christensen is a five-time recipient of the McKinsey Award, given each year to the two best articles published in the Harvard Business Review, and has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tribeca Films Festival.

“Think. Again.”
The theme of this year’s event -- “Think. Again.” -- opens the forum to a variety of topics and messages. Everyone thinks differently, and sometimes the best ideas require us to think, again, from a different angle. IDEAcademy will challenge attendees to consider different perspectives to drive innovative thought and collaboration.

What do you have to share that we can think about? Again.
Additional speakers will be selected to present during one of two satellite events held at The Bristol Train Station in Bristol, Va., and The Millennium Centre in Johnson City on Sept. 11, or at the IDEAcademy main event held at Eastman’s Toy F. Reid Employee Center in Kingsport on Sept. 12.

Interested speakers are invited to apply through the event website, www.IDEAcademy.com, by May 26. There is no fee to apply. Selected speakers will be notified no later than June 16. Additional information and videos from the 2016 event are also available on the site.

IDEAcademy is part of an ongoing leadership development series endowed by Eastman to provide free, world-class leadership training to our communities. For more information, contact Eastman Public Affairs.
