WASHINGTON, D.C., July 10, 2017 /3BL Media/ – The Corporate Responsibility Association (CRA) and CR Magazine announced today the 2017 edition of COMMIT!Forum will focus on “Brands Taking Stands, the role of the corporate responsibility practitioner as companies make their voices heard.

After a decade in New York City, COMMIT!Forum will move to the Washington, D.C., area Oct. 11-12 to the newly opened MGM National Harbor. The event also has a new owner, the Corporate Responsibility Board, a subsidiary of 3BL Media, which acquired CR Magazine and began managing the CRA in April.

“Those who have dedicated their career to corporate responsibility and sustainability have a strong sense of community, supporting the work of peers and hearing how others have overcome challenges,” said Dave Armon, CEO of the Corporate Responsibility Board and publisher of CR Magazine. “We have designed COMMIT!Forum to empower practitioners with fresh knowledge to better do their jobs while advising the C-suite on best practices from multiple sectors.”

Registration for COMMIT!Forum opened today at www.commitforum.com. Get 10% off of early bird pricing of $995 by using the code 10EarlyBirdCF through early August.

Lynne Filderman, who managed key corporate philanthropy and nonprofit partnership initiatives at Booz Allen Hamilton and marketing at America’s Charities, has been named executive producer for COMMIT!Forum.

“COMMIT!Forum’s theme, ‘Brands Taking Stands,’ isn’t only about companies that take activist positions on issues.” Filderman said. “Socially responsible companies take a stand each and every day when they align their brand with authentic socially responsible and sustainable business practices.”

Aman Singh, editor in chief for Futerra in New York, will serve as master of ceremonies alongside Kari Niedfeldt-Thomas, former executive director of The Mosaic Company Foundation, on Oct. 11. Emcees on Oct. 12 will be 3BL Media editorial director John Howell and Katie Loovis, former director of corporate responsibility for GlaxoSmithKline.

BrownFlynn will present a pre-conference professional development session Oct. 10, "Enhancing Your Sustainability Reporting, a Corporate Responsibility and Integrated Reporting Workshop.”  A separate registration is required for the workshop.

Clients of 3BL Media are eligible to attend the inaugural 3BL Media User Conference, also on Oct. 10, where topics include the use of measurement and analytics to create content calendars, and driving sustainability communications decision making to bolster engagement with key stakeholders.
