WASHINGTON, July 15, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Each fall, Elkay Manufacturing Company employees join together to help those affected by a disability or chronic disease through Community Health Charities as part of ELKAYcares, the company’s annual four-week Charitable Giving Program.

Elkay Manufacturing has a long-standing tradition of giving back to communities where their people live, work and play. Through ELKAYcares, employees elect where Elkay’s investments go by pledging donations to select charities, including Community Health Charities. The company then matches the employee donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000. Employees are also given the option to give time through volunteering. In 2014, about 25 percent of Elkay’s 3,200 eligible employees signed up to participate in ELKAYcares from November 3 to December 5.

“For nearly 60 years, Community Health Charities has helped large companies connect their employees with our network of nearly 2,000 local and national trusted health charities,” said Thomas G. Bognanno, President & CEO, Community Health Charities. “With a national total giving of $62,744 to our health charities in 2014, Elkay employees made health engagement and giving a priority that has helped contribute to the more than $400 million we have raised for our charities over the past five years.”

To offer their employees choices to causes they care most about and to align with the needs of Elkay Manufacturing,  the  ELKAYcares  campaign includes four charitable categories including “Healthy Living” where they partner with Community Health Charities; “Living Well” that focuses on organizations that improve quality of life; “Protecting Our Planet” that focuses on protecting the world’s natural resources; and “Compassionate Care” that supports  communities in need.
