“In a perfect world, every day would be Giving Tuesday,” remarked Kevin Bacon.  “That’s the very spirit we champion at SixDegrees.org, a social network that makes it easy for you to support your favorite cause. It’s great to jump start the holiday season with a push towards generosity and to celebrate all the good in this small world.”

About SixDegrees.org

SixDegrees.org taps into the small world phenomenon to accomplish something good: it's social networking with a social conscience. Kevin Bacon started SixDegrees.org in collaboration with Network for Good (www.networkforgood.org) in January 2007, more than 10 years after the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game made the rounds of college campuses. Through this web site, you can support your favorite charities by donating or creating a social fundraiser — as well as check out the favorite causes of other people, including celebrities.  You can also pay it forward with Good Cards® - gift cards for charity that can be redeemed as a donation to more than 1 million charities.  To date, the site has attracted over a million visitors and 8,500 people have created fundraisers. Those people have recruited tens of thousands of additional people to support their causes totaling more than $5 million in donations to over 1,500 charities (many of them small) -- an impressive grassroots ripple effect of awareness. www.SixDegrees.org
