Sands Bethlehem Hosts First Sustainable Foods Workshop
In March, Sands Bethlehem hosted its first Sustainable Foods Workshop in conjunction with Las Vegas Sands’ Global Sustainability Program. Six major food and beverage suppliers participated by discussing their company sustainability practices, while providing insight during a roundtable discussion on a myriad of sustainability topics, including trends they’re seeing and challenges they are experiencing.

Sands China Supports Local Macao Welfare Shop for Fifth Consecutive Year
A group of 40 Sands China Care Ambassadors volunteered their time in February at Macau Holy House of Mercy’s Welfare Shop, helping distribute over 350 food hampers to disadvantaged families, sending them New Year’s blessings for the Year of the Rooster. The event marks the fifth consecutive year of Sands China Ltd.’s support, which also included a donation of MOP 300,000 presented by Sands China President Dr. Wilfred Wong to help needy families facing financial hardships. The food hampers contained items like rice, noodles, biscuits, canned food, cooking oil, toothpaste, and shower gel.

Dedicated Team Members Help The Venetian Macao Earn Third ISO Certification
The Venetian Macao has achieved its third ISO certification by the International Organization for Standardization. This particular designation is for the property’s food safety management system – a first for an integrated resort or hotel in Macao. The scope of the certification covers receiving, storage, cooking, cooling and packaging of chilled food at the property's central kitchen, which serves Sands China Ltd. food and beverage operations.

Sands Bethlehem Starts Prom Dress Drive Benefitting Local YWCA
This year, Sands Bethlehem embarked on a Prom Dress Drive, a new initiative to recycle prom dresses, allocating them to those less fortunate in the area.

Cornell Graduate Students Visit Las Vegas Sands’ properties in Las Vegas as Part of Sustainable Global Enterprise Immersion Program
For several years, Las Vegas Sands has partnered with Cornell University by sponsoring their award winning, internationally recognized Sustainable Global Enterprise (SGE) Immersion program, designed for graduate students attending the university.

Las Vegas Sands Properties around the World Prepare for Week of Events to Support Global Climate Action
Las Vegas Sands’ properties throughout Asia and the US are once again planning a number of events during a one-week period to drive awareness of climate change and to encourage others to do their part to minimize their impact on the environment. The week-long events will commence the week of March 20th, leading up to Earth Hour on March 25th when all properties will go dark by shutting off exterior non-essential lighting.

New Exhibition at Marina Bay Sands ArtScience Museum Uses Augmented Reality to Raise Awareness of Rainforest Conservation Issues
Into the Wild: An Immersive Virtual Adventure, is the latest permanent development at Marina Bay Sands’ ArtScience Museum in Singapore. The virtual reality adventure transforms nearly 11,000 square feet into a virtual rainforest, which can be explored using one’s smartphone device.

Sands Expo Convention Center and The Venetian Congress Center LEED Certification Helps Nevada Earn Ranking on ‘Top 10 States for LEED’ List
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has announced their annual Top 10 States for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) list. The annual ranking highlights states throughout the United States that made significant strides in sustainable building design, construction and transformation over the past year. Nevada made the 2016 list with a total of 6,397,602 LEED-certified gross square footage.

Sands Cares Heroes of the Year Announced
On February 1, Team Members around the world were congratulated after learning they had been selected as Sands Cares Heroes of the Year, as well as finalists for The Sheldon G. and Dr. Miriam Adelson Citizenship Award presented by Sands Cares. Sands Cares is the corporate giving program of Las Vegas Sands, where we make our communities better places to live through philanthropic giving, volunteerism and other in-kind support to local organizations.

Students Explore Fulfilling Careers at Marina Bay Sands
Collaborating with nEbO, the junior membership arm of the Labour Movement (NTUC), on Headstart, a signature project that prepares secondary school students to be more work-ready, Marina Bay Sands organized a visit in November for 54 students from Springfield Secondary School.
