Kingfisher Around the World

Why the Kingfisher?  Kingfisher birds, ubiquitous and beloved around the world, are known for their keen vision and skillful hunting. These qualities are reminiscent of the functions we perform every day as third-party auditors in the field.  Widely recognized as indicators of environmental health, some Kingfisher species are now threatened with extinction. The SCS Kingfisher serves as a reminder of the power, beauty, and vulnerability of nature in the face of human activities.

“Best Tasting Crab in the World" Receives MSC Certification
The West Coast Deep Sea Crab Fishery, operating off the coast of Western Australia, has earned certification under the Marine Stewardship Council standard, the world’s premiere fishery certification program. The independent assessment was conducted by SCS Global Services, a leading third-party auditor and MSC-accredited certification body.

World’s First MSC Certification of Recreational Fishery Alongside Commercial Counterpart
Recreational fishers were recognized for their efforts to engage in sustainable fishing practices in a landmark Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification. At a ceremony Friday in Mandurah, Western Australia, third-party certifier SCS Global Services presented the first-ever MSC certificate to Recfishwest, who along with the commercial Mandurah Licensed Fishermen's Association (MLFA), earned the coveted certification for the Western Australian Peel Harvey Estuarine Fishery. This achievement sets an important precedent for recreational fisheries everywhere.
