The UPS Foundation to Award $2.6 Million in Environmental Grants
The UPS Foundation, which leads global citizenship and philanthropy programs for UPS, announced it will award nearly $2.7 million in grants to preeminent environmental organizations worldwide. The missions of these organizations align with The UPS Foundation and the company’s environmental sustainability goals, which address creation of global standards and best practices as well as other issues such as renewable energy sources and reducing its absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from global ground operations.

UPS was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the sixth consecutive year and the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index for the 14th straight year. The recognition comes as UPS continues to work toward its ambitious sustainability goals to add more alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles to its fleet while increasing its reliance on renewable energy sources.

UPS Dramatically Increases Use of Renewable Natural Gas
UPS today announced an agreement with Big Ox Energy to purchase 10 million gallon equivalents of renewable natural gas (RNG) per year. This is the largest investment in RNG to date for the company, and the agreement runs through 2024. In addition to the agreement with Big Ox, UPS signed a five-year agreement earlier this year with AMP energy for 1.5 million gallon equivalents of RNG per year from the Fair Oaks dairy farm in Indiana. The RNG agreements will help UPS reach a key sustainability goal: 40 percent of all ground transportation fleet fuel from sources other than conventional gasoline and diesel by 2025.

UPS And NYSERDA To Convert UPS Diesel Delivery Trucks In NYC To Electric
UPS and the New York State Energy Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) today announced that new technology will be developed to convert UPS package delivery vehicles from diesel to electric. The project will support New York Governor Cuomo's aggressive goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 40 percent by 2030.
