21st Century Fox Sponsors American Foundation for AIDS Research Gala Honoring Ryan Murphy
At its sixth annual Inspiration Gala Los Angeles at Milk Studios on October 29, the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) honored television writer Ryan Murphy with its Award of Inspiration for his contributions to the fight against HIV and AIDS. Murphy, whose series include Glee and Scream Queens for FOX, as well as American Horror Story for FX, has consistently given voices to LGBT characters in his television and film projects. 21st Century Fox was a Platinum Sponsor of the event and served as Vice Chair, along with Fox Television Group and FX Networks.

GLAAD Commends FOX for "Excellent" LGBT Representation on TV
In its ninth annual Network Responsibility Report, the LGBT media advocacy organization GLAAD has commended FOX for its inclusion of LGBT characters in its programming, giving the network its highest grading of "Excellent." FOX had the highest percentage of LGBT-inclusive original programming hours out of all channels tracked, coming in at 45.4%. This is the highest percentage GLAAD has charted on a broadcast network since the NRI's inception.

STAR India Will Air 'Girl Rising' Documentary on Girls' Empowerment with Help of Bollywood Stars
On Saturday, August 29, STAR India's flagship channel Star Plus will air Girl Rising, an acclaimed documentary from Academy Award nominee Richard E. Robbins that raises awareness of gender inequality and advocates for women's empowerment. The film is the centerpiece of the Girl Rising campaign, which promotes women's rights around the world, and this broadcast will be the first time the film has been shown in India.
