FOX Presents Powerful New Show “SHOTS FIRED” Alongside Panel Discussions with Cast, Creators, and Community Members Across the United States
In advance of the upcoming TV premiere of Shots Fired on March 22, FOX has organized a screening series followed by conversations between the producers, cast, and various community leaders, activists, and members of law enforcement across the country. Shots Fired is a new 10-part series that takes an explosive look at the American criminal justice system through the prism of two racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town.

Ahead of International Women’s Day, STAR India continues inspirational ‘Nayi Soch’ campaign with a new ad celebrating gender equality
21st Century Fox’s STAR India and Bollywood star Aamir Khan have partnered again on a new brand film for STAR India’s ongoing Nayi Soch (“New Thinking’) campaign. Nayi Soch aims to spark conversation and social change through thought-provoking programming that highlights crucial social issues in India. The short film introduces Khan as a middle-class sweetshop owner who attributes his business success to his daughters’ talents. His shop is uniquely named “Gurdeep Singh & Daughters”, rather than the prevalent “— & Sons.”

National Geographic Authors Uncover, Explore and Commemorate African American History
In continued celebration of Black History Month, National Geographic recently released books by authors, Ann Bausum and Michael H. Cottman, who have each devoted their careers to discovery, research, exploration and impact. These authors tell the unvarnished truth about African American history during the slave trade (Cottman’s Shackles From The Deep) and the Civil Rights Movement (Bausum’s The March Against Fear). While Black History Month is coming to a close, these books and the authors' thoughts, below, remind us that black history is America’s history and celebrated every day.

In celebration of Black History Month, 21st Century Fox and AMC Theatres are joining forces to provide free screenings of Academy Award nominated film “Hidden Figures” in communities across the country. The film – starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe – tells the 'untold' story of three African American female NASA mathematicians during the Space Race of the 1960's.

21st Century Fox businesses took home a collective 11 trophies from the 48th NAACP Image Awards on February 11, scoring wins for acting and directing on film and television projects such as Empire, Atlanta, The People v. O.J. Simpson, This Is Us, and Hidden Figures. The ceremony, which celebrates the accomplishments of people of color across the media landscape, was broadcast live on TV One and was hosted by Anthony Anderson.

National Geographic and Katie Couric Launch Screening Tour for Upcoming Documentary 'Gender Revolution: A Journey with Katie Couric'
The two-hour National Geographic documentary GENDER REVOLUTION: A JOURNEY WITH KATIE COURIC (Trailer Here) approaches the topic of gender through the lens of science, society and culture, all woven together by personal stories and experiences. To extend the life of this important documentary beyond its Feb. 6 television broadcast, National Geographic and Picture Motion are partnering on the Gender Revolution Tour, allowing any high school, college, university or nonprofit to sign up to host a free screening and discussion.

Fox Filmmakers Lab Hosts 25 AFI Alumnae as Part of Broad Initiative to Increase Opportunities for Female Film Directors
Fox and the American Film Institute have selected 25 of the most dynamic new voices in Hollywood to participate in the Fox Filmmakers Lab, a mentoring program designed to increase the number of female directors working in the industry. The group consists of alumnae of the AFI Conservatory and the AFI Directing Workshop for Women, and the Lab will allow each of them to develop a short film concept based on Fox’s franchise titles, such as Alien, Planet of the Apes, Predator and more, providing the necessary experience to work on more major studio films as they progress in their careers.

21CF Businesses Earn 34 Nominations at NAACP Image Awards, Celebrating Achievements of People of Color in Entertainment
The nominees for the 48th NAACP Image Awards were announced on December 13, with 21st Century Fox film and television projects receiving 34 total nominations. Fox Searchlight's recent historical drama The Birth of a Nation received six nominations, tying with Moonlight as the year's most-nominated film. Several more Fox films and TV series were recognized, including FX's hit limited series The People v. O.J. Simpson (six nominations), 20th Century Fox's Hidden Figures (three nominations), and FOX's musical drama Empire (six nominations), which collected five awards last year. This year's winners will be announced at a ceremony in Hollywood on February 11 hosted by Anthony Anderson and broadcast live on TV ONE at 9pm/8c.
