Hello, I’m Gretchen Siegchrist, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, April 9th:

BoardSource, a consulting company for in nonprofit governance, is offering several training programs in the next few weeks. Next week, BoardSource will present a program on Advanced Board Consulting, focusing on key governance topics and the challenges that governance consultants face in working with nonprofit organizations. Other training programs in coming weeks will focus on facilitation techniques, components of effective governance, and assessment of governing boards.

The first sustainable cat food in England will be available soon from Whiskas and Sheba, two brands that use Marine Stewardship Council-certified fish in its pet food. Manufacturer Mars Petcare is making the move in response to rising demand for sustainably caught fish. The UK’s eight million pet owners buy 1.5 million tons of food a year. Globally, an estimated 750 million pets consume 20 million tons annually.
