CONTENT: Press Release

Hello, I’m Emily Polk and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Wednesday, February 17th:

Although 86 percent of respondents to a recent survey said that their organization promotes employee sustainability, just 14 percent reported that their employers had an official employee sustainability engagement policy. The Employee Engagement Survey, from Brighter Planet and Saatchi & Saatchi, also reported that small companies, with 100 people or less, were twice as likely to promote sustainability. Not surprisingly, their efforts were twice as likely to be effective at changing employee behavior. 67 percent of the respondents were dissatisfied with their employer’s stance on sustainability and would like it to change.

ZTE, a Chinese telecom company, has been awarded a contract by Pannon, the Hungarian mobile communications company, to build a high-speed mobile broadband network. ZTE is a member of the UN Global Compact and has announced a long-term goal to become a global CSR leader, implementing CSR compliance through the company and its supply chain. ZTE delivers products and services to over 500 customers in more than 140 countries, and is China’s only publicly traded telecom manufacturer.
