Kellogg’s, Colgate-Palmolive, DuPont, Dow Chemical, and Coca-Cola are among the corporations that have created a trade organization to coordinate the packaging industry’s environmental efforts. The American Institution for Packaging and the Environment, AMERIPEN, will advocate for public policy relating to eco-friendly packaging. The newly formed association is modeled after European and British counterparts, Europen and Incpen.
The Corporate Responsibility Officers Association has released a guidebook on structuring and staffing corporate responsibility. The Guidebook includes a survey, conducted in cooperation with the NYSE Euronext Exchanges and CR Magazine, of every publicly traded company on the Exchanges and how those companies budget, structure, and plan their CR programs. Other features include a CR Best Practices study and organization charts that document the different forms currently in use.
