Boston, MA, March 30 , 2017 /3BL Media/ – As part of the Boston Celtics partnership with JetBlue, Celtics Center Amir Johnson, mascot “Lucky” the Leprechaun the Celtics Dancers, and JetBlue Partnership Spokesperson Ronda McLeod were on hand at JetBlue’s Hangar and Terminal at  Boston Logan International Airport to give students from Winthrop Middle School a behind the scenes tour of JetBlue’s operations.

“Being able to take a behind the scenes tour and see something not many people get to experience is a great opportunity for these kids,” said Johnson. “Combine that with the element of competition and fun, and it all equals up to a pretty cool initiative.”

“We are excited to partner with the Boston Celtics on the Rookie Flight Crew initiative,” said Ronda McLeod, manager regional marketing, JetBlue. “Through partnerships like this JetBlue and our education-focused foundation are encouraging excitement around STEM.”

The event included students showing off their aviation skills and model planes to JetBlue crewmembers and Celtics VIP’s. To conclude the event the winner of the Rookie Flight Crew flew his/her model plane against Amir Johnson and JetBlue crewmembers. The Rookie Flight Crew winning team also received a team signed basketball.
