On January 16 and 17, more than 100 Booz Allen employees, friends, and family members volunteered in a variety of roles to support the athletes of Special Olympics Virginia at the Winter Games, held in Fairfax, VA. Special Olympics Virginia supports 200,000 champions with and without disabilities in nearly 300 K-12 schools and thousands more in community-based programs across Virginia.

For decades, Booz Allen has supported the world-class athletes of Special Olympics. This international nonprofit provides year-round training and athletic competitions in a variety of sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them opportunities to improve their physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and have fun.  Our volunteers are deeply invested in the mission of Special Olympics, and have contributed thousands of hours and more than $500,000 in donations since 2003.

This year, the firm sponsored Fanquest, a fun, family-friendly opening ceremony and basketball game between two high school Special Olympics teams. The firm also sponsored the Bowling Championships, the first competition of the Winter Games. Volunteers helped run the competition, cheered on athletes, and presented medals to the winners.
