Booz Allen Employees Volunteer Alongside Service Members In Support Of Military Families
November 25, 2015 /3BL Media/ -- In support of Military Families Appreciation Month this November, Booz Allen Hamilton has worked with our nonprofit partners to lend a hand in performing community service activities that strengthen and support military families.
In partnership with Blue Star Families, teams of our volunteers worked to refurbish several military youth centers and an elementary school library at bases across the country– helping to give our military children a bright and healthy place to grow. Each project brought Booz Allen employees together with service members, families and volunteers in their local communities. Some of the projects the teams participated in include:
- Painting and building a garden at the McChord AFB Youth Center in Pierce County, WA.
- Refurbishing a playground, building a garden, and sprucing up the interior of the Armed Services YMCA Youth Center serving children on Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach, VA
- Freshening the gardens and performing minor repairs at Joint Base San Antonio Youth Center in San Antonio, TX.
- Painted the Nellis AFB Youth Center in Nevada.
- Building new bookshelves and stocking the shelves with 1,600 donated books at the Leckie Elementary School library, serving children from Joint Base Anacostia Bolling in Washington, DC
- As part of the USO’s “Turkeys for Troops,” helping to pack and distribute Thanksgiving meals to military families in the DC metro area
