Bettering the Lives of Kids with Disabilities

In Atlas Copco Turkey, we believe it is key for us to  sustain a responsible corporate citizenship. Being aware of the crucial importance of hi-tech tools for hearing-impaired kids, on January 13th, we visited Rotary Hearing-impaired Primary School and donated two laptops that will provide high quality visuality to the school kids.

Rotary Hearing-impaired Primary School was founded in 1996 and since then it has been striving to provide an education system that enables hearing-impaired kids to become self-confident, responsible individuals that are very well integrated in the society. School management aims to support these special children to achieve their full potential.

“We are grateful to Atlas Copco for this kind initiative. Technology is a necessity when you are educating these special kids, who primarily start learning with visuals. These laptops Atlas Copco donated for our school will for sure help us a lot. ” says Adnan Etçi, School Principal.

“One may assume that hearing-impaired kids encounter more difficulties in showing their capacity and capabilities because they often face multiple challenges,because of less or no access to the sound-dominated world. However, after visiting the school and seeing the talent show on the notice boards, we do not even have a question mark in mind.” says Handan Şahin, VP Holding. “It is proven that when managed very well, a kid, no matter what the disability is, can achieve his full potential and prove his limitless creativity.”

The two paintings presented to Atlas Copco by school kids will be hang on the walls of a meeting room at the office and for sure, each time we see these pieces of art, we will remember the happiness in the kids’ eyes.
