BSR to Host Event in China Celebrating Completion of Women in Factories Program

May 2, 2017 10:00 AM ET

Over the past three years, BSR's Women in Factories program has reached more than 90,000 workers in manufacturing supply chains in China. At the end of each of the past two years, we convened program partners and stakeholders to share best practices and solutions in worker training programs, including how such programs can improve the competitiveness of the entire manufacturing sector.

Now, at the completion of the program, BSR and Walmart will host a half-day event in Shenzhen, China, to celebrate program outcomes, recognize the efforts of participating factories, and discuss how to embrace the challenges and opportunities related to “Made in China 2025,” a Chinese government initiative to transform China into a leading manufacturing power by investing in workers.

The Women in Factories China program is funded through a three-year grant and partnership with the Walmart Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative. Learn more about Women in Factories here, and request registration for the event here.
