Paris/Copenhagen, June 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ — Global business network and sustainability consultancy BSR has opened a new office in Copenhagen, expanding its global presence and footprint across the European region.

For more than 20 years, BSR has been the preeminent global network for sharing best practices, collaborative approaches, and opportunities to advance sustainable business. The opening of a new office in Copenhagen, led by BSR Vice President, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Peder Michael Pruzan-Jorgensen, will better serve Nordic membership and will grow activities and impact across EMEA, in parallel with greater project engagement in these regions.

“The BSR mission to work with business in creating a just and sustainable world is a natural fit for Nordic businesses—many of which are already familiar with collaboration and partnering,” says Pruzan-Jorgensen. “By opening an office in Copenhagen, we are making available our global staff expertise to the Nordic region, from working inside factories, deep in mines, and in farming environments, as well as in the board room on strategic sustainability decisions.”

BSR has a long history working with Nordic organizations, notably associate members such as Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), as well as member companies A.P. Moller - Maersk, BESTSELLER, Carlsberg Breweries, DONG Energy, Electrolux, H & M Hennes & Mauritz, IKEA, KappAhl Sverige, Nilsongroup, Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, and Stockmann.

“We are delighted that BSR is now around the corner from us, as it will enable us to benefit even more from the power of BSR’s global network of sustainability experts and member companies. As our growth in emerging markets takes up, it becomes increasingly important for us to work with partners that truly understand the local sustainability challenges we face. BSR is such a partner,” said Anne-Marie Skov, Senior Vice President, Communications & CSR, Carlsberg Breweries.

“As a global company with retail outlets and supply chains stretching throughout the world, we value highly BSR’s on-the-ground presence in major markets as well as its global approach to sustainability,” said Helena Helmersson, Head of Sustainability, H & M Hennes & Mauritz.

BSR also has offices across Asia (in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong), in Europe (Paris), in South America (São Paulo), and in North America (New York and San Francisco).
