FSG Webinar: Competing by Saving Lives: Stories of Implementation

Last week, Abbott’s Divisional Vice President of Global Citizenship and Policy Katherine Pickus participated in a webinar panel discussing opportunities to create shared value in global health care, hosted by social impact consultant group FSG.

As part of the panel, Abbott discussed emerging trends in advancing shared value, providing insight on how companies are addressing societal issues through their business and through partnerships.  Abbott’s Pickus reflected on the ways in which the company has implemented programs that are both profitable and sustainable in emerging markets, including sharing lessons learned from the company’s True Care business in India, which is focused on transforming health outcomes for underserved populations. Abbott also is working with the leading NGO CARE to help support new models of social enterprise in India.

Moderated by FSG's Managing Director Kyle Peterson, the webinar featured three other panelists who shared their experiences in implementing shared value within the global health sector.  Free access to the presentation slides, and full access to the webinar for a fee, can be accessed here.
