FISHERS, Ind., July 13, 2022 / 3BL Media / - Land Betterment Corporation (“Land Betterment” or the “Company”), an environmental solutions company fostering positive impact through upcycling former coal mining and industrial sites to create sustainable community development and job creation, is thrilled to announce that together with its community partners, they will celebrate Move-In Day for a Bowling Green, Kentucky resident who was displaced by the tornadoes that devastated the region in December 2021. The Welcome Home Celebration will take place on July 15th at 11:00 am CT at 1169 Regis O’Connor Boulevard, Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Community partners who worked together to make Move-In Day a reality are:

  • Community Ventures Kentucky

  • Habitat For Humanity Bowling Green/Warren County

  • United Way Of The Bluegrass

Kirk Taylor, President of Land Betterment commented, “We are thrilled to donate this ekō home so that another victim who lost their home from the December 2021 tornados can finally have a sustainable and reliable home which will enable them to better focus on rebuilding their life. And without the involvement of Community Ventures Kentucky, Habitat For Humanity Bowling Green/Warren County and United Way Of The Bluegrass this would never have come to fruition.”

Mr. Taylor continued, “This Bowling Green ekō home is the 22nd we have placed in a community and is validation that our ekō container homes are accepted and approved by the local agencies and provide a safe and efficient solution. We have continued to make tactical improvements so that obtaining the certificate of occupancy is shortened, thus allowing us to execute on our plans to expand the installation of ekō homes throughout the country not only for victims of natural disasters but also for temporary housing for both residential and commercial use. This is a very exciting day!”

ekō homes are manufactured to strict quality management processes in order to meet specific national and state building codes. These upcycled shipping container homes are high quality because like modular homes, they are built in a factory consistent “assembly line” method as well as undergo strict quality control for each unit.  Additionally, ekō homes are made in a climate-controlled facility following a strict quality control plan according to international and state building codes. This standardized method of home building allows ekō Solutions to manufacture homes in speeds upwards of 7 homes per week. ekō Solutions takes special care in the design and execution of the required work. Each detail is focused on from the faucets used in the kitchens and bathrooms, to the specific location of electrical outlets.  Because ekō homes need to withstand the wear and tear of being transported (in their previous life as an ocean shipping container), lifted, and moved, means they are built to be much stronger in order to successfully pass building standards and codes.
