For the ninth consecutive year, Booz Allen Hamilton received a perfect score on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI) -- a national benchmarking survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) that evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices.

The 2019 CEI report assesses organizations in areas including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Booz Allen’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a “Best Place to Work” for LGBTQ Equality.

“We’re proud to receive this recognition and to be a champion for LGBTQ equality in the workplace,” said Betty Thompson, chief people officer at Booz Allen. “By advocating for LGBTQ employees both inside and outside our organization, we empower our employees to be their authentic selves and change the world.”

Booz Allen has a long history of supporting its LGBTQ workforce. This year marks the 20th anniversary of GLOBE, the firm’s LGBTQ employee forum, which elevates the visibility and interests of LGBTQ employees and ensures their opportunities for development and advancement in a safe and affirming environment.

“We are honored to be recognized by HRC as one of the best places to work for LGBTQ equality in the same year that we celebrate the 20th anniversary of our GLOBE forum and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising,” said Josh Sullivan, executive sponsor of GLOBE. “We are proud to continue driving an inclusive culture that recruits and retains the best LGBTQ employees, advocates for diversity and inclusion, and earns our reputation as an inclusive employer of choice for top LGBTQ talent.”

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.

“The top-scoring companies on this year’s CEI are not only establishing policies that affirm and include employees here in the United States, but they are applying these policies to their global operations and impacting millions of people beyond our shores,” said Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign.
