SAN RAMON, Calif., May 28, 2019 – Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) today published its 2018 Corporate Responsibility Report Highlights focusing on the company’s achievements in environmental, social and governance performance.

“We are in the business of progress, and our work helps billions of people achieve better living standards, access to education, longer and healthier lives, and social and economic opportunities,” said Chevron’s Chairman and CEO Michael Wirth. “This report highlights how we do business the right and responsible way to provide the affordable, reliable and ever-cleaner energy essential to enabling human progress around the world.”

This year, Chevron’s corporate responsibility reporting emphasizes environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues of interest to its stakeholders — investors, customers, host governments, local communities and employees. It details Chevron’s actions to engage its diverse workforce; manage risks, including climate change; keep people healthy and safe; protect the environment; and respect human rights. In addition, the report describes how Chevron’s work and investments contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to overcome poverty, protect the planet, and promote peace and prosperity.

Chevron partners with thousands of business, government and nonprofit organizations to expand health, education and economic development in the communities where it operates. To further promote prosperity in these communities, Chevron has spent $154 billion on goods and services and more than $1 billion on social investments globally in the past five years.
